Reflections from Room 211

Reflections from Room 211. Saturday, June 9, 2012. What I Have Recently Learned About The Flipped Classroom. Last week I had the honor to attend a workshop from the co-creator of the Flipped Classroom concept, Aaron Sams. While I had been researching the concept of a Flipped Classroom for many months, it was an awesome opportunity to learn from the expert who has spent the past six years working out the kinks to perfect this concept in his classroom. DAY ONE: THE WORKSHOP. By clicking on this link. You c...

Reflections from Room 211: January 2012

http://www.reflectionsfromroom211.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Reflections from Room 211. Wednesday, January 25, 2012. My family and I took in 3 basketball games. The school district that I teach in, Centura. Took on the school district that I live in, St. Paul. This match-up has long been a rivalry, so it was an exciting game; especially the boys game! My bestie and I still laugh today as we recall crossing the state line into South Dakota, wondering if and when we should wake him up! What impact am I making on the students I currently teach? Just Trust the Process.

Reflections from Room 211: Just Trust the Process

http://www.reflectionsfromroom211.blogspot.com/2012/01/just-trust-process.html

Reflections from Room 211. Monday, January 23, 2012. Just Trust the Process. Just trust the process" is a phrase I heard numerous times by my facilitators at Wayne State College. I did learn to trust the process. I knew that the end they had in mind for us would stretch me and help me grow professionally and individually. How did I come to learn to trust the process? Hopefully, the word "hero" will pop as well as their hero's name. For a large majority of my students, this is their first experience w...

Reflections from QualityTime

Thursday, 10 April 2014. All Original versus New Parts Seiko Watches. We have a very strong and clear opinion of this debate - it is entirely up to you! Look's great doesn't it? Now I am using the analogy of a wrecked Vintage Jag advisedly here because the restoration job on this Jag would not have used all original parts. Does that mean it is no longer a Jag, that somehow it has been devalued? Monday, 30 December 2013. SEIKO 7002 VINTAGE SUBMARINER DIVERS PLANET OCEAN WATCH LIMITED EDITION NO. 3. Reason...

Reflections from Seminary Life

Reflections from Seminary Life. Sunday, November 18, 2012. I guess this blog may as well serve as a bin for things too long for Facebook]. I know this is likely to sound very "white middle-class"-ish, (but hey, I am white middle-class, sort of), but I've been thinking about this concept of "the marginalized" that we toy with in theology and sermons (as the better of us move into actual practice), and here's where I am at:. Monday, April 16, 2012. I initially wondered if what I wanted to capture in writin...

reflections from solitude | and silence

July 25, 2012. It’s the moments in life when you realize that you need help beyond yourself that you realize that you haven’t actually “got it all together” in the way that you have been feigning. My prayer this morning comes directly from Psalm 5:. Give ear to my words, O Lord,. Listen to my cry for help,. My King and my God,. For to you I pray. In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice;. In the morning, I lay my requests before you. And wait in expectation. But I, by your great mercy,. April 30, 2012.
