Venture Out: K&M Tasting Room: Good Wine, Good People Carlton OR
http://ventureout-laurie.blogspot.com/2014/07/k-tasting-room-good-wine-good-people.html
Monday, June 30, 2014. K&M Tasting Room: Good Wine, Good People. If you’re seeking a wine tasting experience that's the polar opposite of, say, Napa Valley on the weekend – i.e. impersonal corporate wineries with about as much charm as the inside of a Home Depot, overpriced tastings and gobs of people jockeying for position at the wine bar – then the K&M Tasting Room. Is the spot for you. K&M Winery Rose, ready and waiting. Ken with a few of his bottles. 143 E Main Street. Posted by Laurie Harquail.

Friday, June 12, 2015. De-Nailing Deconstructed: The ReBuilding Center, Portland OR. For quite some time, I had been seeking an organization where I could volunteer. My criteria were as follows: it had to be close by, offer flexible times to do the work – and also be fun. My search led me to the ReBuilding Center. Plus, everyone gets to wear a hard hat, and what could be cooler than that? 3625 N. Mississippi Ave.

Tuesday, April 28, 2015. The Historic Balch Hotel: Dufur OR. I’m a sucker for historic hotels, and often seek them out whenever I take a trip. That’s why I jumped at the chance to stay at the Balch Hotel. In Dufur, Oregon. Dufur is a farming community roughly 100 miles from Portland and just east of The Dalles. The hotel (c. 1907), which has been elegantly restored and is on the National Register of Historic Places, looms large in this small town. 8211; often passed off as “atmosphere” –...The hotel...

A small shop on NE Fremont in Portland, Oregon. They've garnered quite a bit of. Nd for good reason. Thursday, October 2, 2014. Out of Their Element in Portland OR. Decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood this afternoon to enjoy the lovely early fall afternoon, and lo and behold I stumbled upon a raised bed full of thriving cacti. Hmmmm…not exactly indigenous to the Pacific Northwest, but striking none the less. Not sure how they’ll look in December. But, just proves if you get out of your comfort zone you can still flourish. Monday, April 28, 2014. Triple Header: Burrasca, Vino and Crema Coffee. I love when I can get my all my culinary cravings met on one city block. That’s what happened the other day when I had a hankering for good Italian food, but wasn’t up for the whole sit-down restaurant experience. So I Googled PDX food carts and up popped Burrasca. Whose specialty is Florentine fare. It had several rave reviews online, so off I went. Special of the Day. Back to Burrasca…. Tagliatelle with Beef Ragu. I couldn’t ...

Monday, November 24, 2014. We Picked a Winner:. Portland Meadows, Portland OR. My pals and I decided to try something different for my birthday this year. Intrigued by a really great case study I found online about a local agency's rebranding of Portland Meadows. Not to mention the charming billboards around town – yes advertising does work! We were lured to the track to check out the ponies. Vintage jockey portrait at Portland Meadows. Portland Meadows race snippet. And then there’s the lingo! San Juan ...
