Just another WordPress.com site. November 24, 2011. Overall i am very happy with how my bike turned out, and i really enjoyed the module. i learned a number of new skills, especially the art of welding. although most of us were under pressure, i got great enjoyment out of seeing the progress of my bike and my fellow classmates bikes. If i was to do it again , i wouldn’t have used the standard wheels. a lot of my classmates used go kart/mini moto wheels and they really stood out. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

One problem i found when welding the sides together using the tie bar was the frame tended to twisted. this through the shape of the frame out. to keep an equal distance throughout i place a block between the pieces and clamp the sides to it, therefore sides couldnt move. Just another WordPress.com site. November 17, 2011. Seen also are the suspension mounts in which my forks are held in. November 16, 2011. After making bushings for the standard wheel, i then had to make spacers for the back axel as the wheel was going side to side. used round nylon and drilled the required hole. My axele plates. my axel is a M8 threaded bar. picture shows my back axel with bushings. November 15, 2011. I decided to stick with the standard wheels. seen are my wheels, axeles and bushings.

My Model Motorbike Blog. November 23, 2011. Ran into a few problems with my tank. I had originally painted the tank black but then decided I wanted to paint it red. I primed the tank using acid 8 etch primer which went fine and prepared it for the red paint. I sprayed the red which was a “Ferrari Red” two pack paint (Unfortunately not left over from spraying my Ferrari). I am now in the process of spraying the bike. I firstly applied high build primer before adding the colour in which I wanted for my bike.
